About Boulder City, NV - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Boulder City is a small city located outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is positioned between the Colorado River and Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area in Clark County. It is the 6th largest city located in Clark County. According to the United States Census Bureau, there were about 15,000 people living in Boulder City in 2016.
In 1928, the site of present-day Boulder City was barren desert. That same year Congress authorized the construction of a dam on the Colorado River. The dam would be built in Black Canyon between Nevada and Arizona. Leaders of the project discovered while construction of the dam took place, there would be a shortage of accommodating facilities for workers. The nearest city was Las Vegas, located about 30 miles north of construction site. Instead of building a temporary camp, the government opted for the construction of a new city. Walker Young, a Bureau of Reclamation engineer, selected the site for the city. That site is present-day Boulder City.
